In and around Karaikal there are many tourist important
places, and holy Shiva and Vaishnava temples are situated which are all
recorded in the holy books of Nayanmars and Alwars.Many
PLACES OF INTEREST are in the Karaikal region in the view of tourist
and pilgrim.
Right from the ancient times, Karaikal is considered to be a pilgrimage
centre. The
total number of Hindu temples in the region are said to be 99. Seasonal
festivals are conducted every year during June-July and
October-November.
